In modern world, Computer is everywhere and it part of life. What exactly is computer? I guess the easiest way I can explain it is a machine, it made up of many electronic components that all function together in order to accomplish some useful task. We can use the personal computer (PC) for Office Work, School, Scientific Research and Entertainment etc. PC also provides the communication through the Internet.
STARTING A PC FOR THE FIRST TIME
When we start the PC first time, you must first turn it on. How to do this thing? What happens this time? First you should simple push of a power switch button for turn on. The BIOS (it stands for Basic Input/output System) runs a test to check if all the peripheral devices, memory and hardware of the PC are working properly and this test is called the Power On Self Test (POST). For Example, the BIOS asking ‘Are you Ok’? ‘How are you’? If any of the above components (e.g. - memory) of the PC are not in proper condition, the PC will give some warning signals like beeps. In some cases, if the problem is serious, the PC will not boot at all (later post we can discuss how it solve). Ok. Fine, if PC will boot only if the results of the test are positive and then the computer can be used.
