UNDERSTANDING COMPUTER HARDWARE


Computer Hardware is a physical component of computer that can be seen and touched; namely microprocessor, motherboard, Monitor, Printer, keyboard and video card are all examples of computer hardware. Without any hardware your computer would not exist and software would have nothing to run on. Now the question, what is software? Collection of programs is called software; Program is a set of instruction, and instruction is the command given to computer.

First I say, a personal computer (PC) made up of many distinct electronic components. Is it true? Yes, well. Now, Computer hardware component is a piece of hardware that is part of system. For example; sound card can be considered a component of computer. Most computers today are modular. That means the components that can be easily removed and replaced. The figure shows the components and arrows show they interconnect.
